Itinerary – Machu Pichu Trek

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco, following your domestic flight to Cusco we will welcome you at the airport and transfer to the hotel were you have the remainder of the day at your leisure to rest and acclimatize to the altitude. the plaza de Armas is never far and Cusco is made for walking.

Day 2: Guided tour of the city and its archeological sites starting with Korikancha (temple of the sun) visit of the main square and its side alley, Inca museum and cathedral. it is good to have an easy day in and around Cusco in order to acclimatize. remember it is 3,200m/10,560 ft. high.

Day 3: Sacsayhuaman. you will travel outside Cusco for a tour of the archeological site of Tambomachay, hike to Puca Pucara and then Sacsayhuamna. we will them continue towards the sacred valley with a stop at the Lamas farm and hotel.

Day 4: In the morning we start with a ride up to Pisac. from the hight point we hike while visiting the amazing site of Pisac and continue downhill all the way to the main square of the town of Pisac. in the afternoon we will visit two incredible sites the Maras salt mine and Moray incredible Inca agricultural test site, night in the great Tambo Del Inca hotel.

Day 5: After a great night and a healthy breakfast we will transfer Ollantaytambo and spend the morning visiting the site, early morning, there is less people and much more enjoyable to visit. after lunch in town we will catch the train to Aguas Caliente below the Machu Picchu.

Day 6: The Grand Machu Picchu. A very early start, a steep ride up to the entrance, first we will hike to Wayna Picchu and enjoy a great view of the full site. spend the rest of the day visiting Machu Picchu. returning in the afternoon to Aguas Caliente

Day 7: Catch a morning train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer by bus to Cusco. visit along the way a farmer maker of “Chicha” return to Cusco.

Day 8: End of the first part of the tour. connect with domestic and International flight. or rest for the day in Cusco before continuing on to Lake Titicaca. (bus ride to Puno start around midnight)

Tour Part 2:

Day 9:Arrival in Puno after a night ride( with Cruz del Sur buses), settle in the hotel for the day

Day 10-11: Puno & Lake Titicaca. visit of Taquille island,

Day 12: Transfer to Arequipa ( visit of the Santa Catalina Monasterio)

Day 13-14-15: start of the Colca canyon trek ( 3 days). Day 1: transfer from Arequipa to trail head, stop by the condor observatory, hike down the canyon ( night with local family) Day 2: walk along the canyon to Sangalle spend the day by the pool. Day 3: climb out of the canyon to Cabanaconde, return to Arequipa.

Day 15: Transfer from Arequipa to Nasca. Early morning arrival and transfer to Nasca airport, enjoy an incredible flight over the line. afternoon bus transfer to Paracas.

Day 16: Easy day in Paracas visit of the Ballestas Island

Day 17: Day time transfer to Lima

Day 18: Lima, city tour

Day 19: international flight
