Trekking from Leysin to Grimsel pass, Berner Oberland
This tour traverses the Berner Oberland, from Leysin above the Rhone valley to Grimsel pass. Starting in the high pastures of the Pre-Alps slowly gaining altitude to culminate at the Jungfraujoch in the heart of the Berner Oberland. This tour combine easy hiking on alpine trails. Rough, demanding hiking in alpine ground and boulder fields. Glaciers crossing using harness, rope, crampons and ice axe. The progression allow people to learn the techniques as we go (Wildhorn, easy, Wildstrubel, easy to intermediate and so on).
Our luggage will be transfer from town to town but some nights will be spend in mountain huts were we wont have access to the luggage’s. The huts we will visit are very comfortable (but no shower). Both high huts (Concordia and Finsteraar) are new and exceptionally good. The huts are well equipped and we wont need to carry much, personnel gear, snacks and technical gear. Hut provide meals, and sleeping arrangement including either blankets or duvet.
