Day 1:

Arriving at Geneva or Zurich international airport, transfer by train and bus to   Grächen

Day 2:

  • Grächen 1622 m a.s.l. – Gasenried 1659 m – Europahütte ON 2240 m
  • Hiking hours approx 6 hours 10’
  • Elevation gain: 618 m (crossing the great ditch, a long stone pass,  strenous!)

Day 3:

  • Europahütte 2240 m – Ottavan Täschalp 2187 m – Tufteren 2215 m – Zermatt 1616 m ON
  • Hiking hours approx 6 hours 15’
  • Elevation Gain: 28 m
  • Elevation loss: 652 m

Day 4:

  • Cable Car up to Gandegg 3029 m or Trockener Steg 2939 m – crossing Glacier with Licensed mountain Guide – Theodulpass 3301 m highest point of the Tour –  Testa Grigia by Cable Car down to Breuil Cervinia (Italy) 2006 m – Perreres 1850 m – Fenêtre du di Cignana 2441 m – Cabane Perucca  Vuillermoz 2900 m, ON
  • Hiking hours approx 6 hours 35’
  • Elevation Gain : 1412 m
  • Elevation Loss: 156 m

Day 5:

  • Col die Valcornera 3066 m – Prarayer 2005 m – Cabane Collon – Nacamuli 2900 m
  • Hiking Hours approx: 6 hours 30’
  • Elevation gain: 979 m
  • Elevation loss: 1061 m

Day 6:

  • Col Collon 3087 m – High Glacier of Arolla (at the foot of glacier) 2550m, crossing with licensed Mountain Guide – Point 2089 m – Arolla 1969 m , ON
  • Hiking Hours: approx 5 hours
  • Elevation gain: 269 m
  • Elevation loss: 1118 m

Day 7:

  • Arolla – Les Haudères 1452 m by Postal Car –  Villa 1739 m – Col de Torrent 2919 – Moiry Barrage 2250 m, ON
  • Hiking Hours approx: 6 hours
  • Elevation Gain: 1467 m
  • Elevation loss: 669 m

Day 8:

  • Sorebois 2438 m – Zinal 1675 m – Hotel Weisshorn  2337 m, ON
  • Hiking Hours approx: 6 hours
  • Elevation gain: 850 m
  • Elevation loss: 763 m

Day 9:

  • Meidpass 2790m – Gruben/Meiden 1825 m, ON
  • Hiking Hours: approx 4 hours
  • Elevation gain: 453 m
  • Elevation loss:  965 m

Day 10:

  • Augstbordpass 2894 m – Jungu 1968 m and by cable Car to St. Niklaus ON: at St. Niklaus or traveling back to Zermatt
  • Hiking hours: 5 hours 15’

Day 11:

  • By train down to Visp – Lausanne – Geneva or Zurich  Airport Intl

Difficulty:

  • Strenuous, very attractive, but also very demanding higher Alpine Trail
  • Gear towards experienced, reasonable fit hikers

Tour dates:

  • Best hiking time: Mid July – End of August
  • Trip offered on a custom basis only
