                                      TURTMANTAL SKI TOUR MARCH 23 - 29, 2009
                                          Come ski with us!  A guided ski tour of the Turtmanntal - a week of ski touring.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Meet in Bella Tola hut above St Luc. Easy access from St Luc. Ride the funicular, one Tbar and ski down to the hut.
Night at the hut.

Day 2: From Bella Tolla Hut ski to Turtman Hutte via. Col du Boeuf, Gruben or via Col De Vijun or from L'Omen Roso
accessible from Weisshorn hotel above St Luc.

Day 3: Ski ascent of Barrhorns. 3,592m. a great peak with amazing views and an incredible descent……

Day 4: Ski ascent and descent of Brunegghorn. 3,833 m. A more alpine peak next to the Bishorn and Weisshorn.

Day 5: Ski tours from the hut. Choose one of the many options, with your guide.

Day 6: Traverse to Tracuit hut. 3,256 m. a beautiful traverse in a splendid setting. Surrounded by glaciers and high peaks.

Day 7: Ascent of Bishorn. 4,153m. and an incredible descent all the way to Zinal


Difficulty: Each day of the week is moderate to difficult. However there is plenty of options and the guide will adjust the
tour base on condition, participant fitness and desire.

Meeting.
On March 23, 2009 at the Bella Tola hut above St Luc.

Trip end. On MARCH 29, 2009. late afternoon. Location base on condition.
Options include: Zinal, St Niklaus, Oberems.

Price: 5 - 6 persons. $ 1,430 Per person.  

Service include:
Professional mountain guide & expenses
Mountain  Hut Lodging ½  pension (Dinner & breakfast)

Service does not include:
Transport to St Luc and Bella Tola hut.

Safety gear:
Transceiver/Shovel/probe

Technical gear:
Harness, Locking carabiner, Ice axe, Crampons.
Alpine Touring skis with AT bindings, AT boots, or
Telemark skis, Tele boots, or
Snowboard package. (I recommend the split board system)
Ski crampons
Adjustable poles  
Climbing skins

Personal gear:
Back pack (45L)
Warm Hat (wool or fleece)
Sun hat or visor
Sunglasses
Goggles (flexible and carrying case)
Light weight gloves,(fleece)
Heavy weight gloves or mittens w/ Goretex shells
Neck gaiter or scarf

Layering system:
Light weight Capilene underwear - Zip-T (turtleneck) top and bottoms (1 set)
Warm socks (2 ).
Liner (optional)
Sweater or Synchilla fleece jacket/ pullover
Jacket - Goretex with good hood  
Ski pants and Goretex pants
Cotton T- shirt  for the hut (1)
Very small Down coat . Better to use a puffball style.(Primaloft)

Perfect weather, great snow, very few skiers,
an entire valley to ourself, a cosy hut, well
not much more to say it was perfect.
