
TOUR DU MONT BLANC TREK - 2009
Itinerary:
Day 1-2: Transfer from US to Switzerland, Geneva. Transfer to Chamonix. Meet with your
guide and review the tour, gear and condition.
Day 3: Chamonix
Short hike to Lac Blanc from La Flegere. Enjoy incredible views of the Mont Blanc massif. The Aiguille de Chamonix,
Mer de glace, the three Mont Blancs.
Just an amazing sight.
Day 4: Chamonix - Les Houches – Les Contanmines
Start from Les Houches we will ride the cable car to Bellevue. Start the hike via Bionnassay glacier and col di Tricot at
(2120m.) . amazing view of Dome De Miage.
Traverse the high pasture of Miage (1559m) and up to “Chalet du Truc before descending
To les Contamines ( 1200m) for the night.
Day 5: Les Contanmines – col du Bonhomme - Les Chapieux.
We will hike via an old Roman trail pass the church of notre Dame de la Gorge and hike to col du Bonhomme (2329m).
we are leaving the Montjoie valley, entering the “Beaufortain” we continue up to Col des Fours (2716m) before
descending to the city of
Glaciers (1864m). Night at les Chapieux.
Day 6: les Chapieux – La Palud
Over Col de la Seigne (2516m) we are stepping into Italy. Down the Val Veny and the south face of Mont Blanc with so
many famous climb, amazing views. Pass the Refugio
Elizabetta, combal and Miage lake and Visaille. Transfer to La Palud, hotel Funivia were my friends Elena and Victorio
await us with special cheese, wine and other goodies.
Day 7: Val Ferret – La fouly
A short transfer or a longer hike will lead us along the val Ferret below the Grande Jorasse, over the Grand or Petit col
Ferret (2537m) and down to La Fouly for the night
In Switzerland.
Day 8: La fouly – Champex
We will walk along the Val Ferret Suisse passing many typical villages all the way to Champex Lac and Val D’Arpette. A
beautiful day, not so alpine but very typical.
Day 9: Champex – Col de la Forclas
Two options for the day. First the very confortable trail via Les Bovines et Col De la Forclas were we overlook the Rhone
Valley.
Second hike the hight route to Fenetre D’Arpette (2671m) with great view of Trient glacier, Les Ecandies, follow by a
steep descent to Col de La Forclas.
Day 10: Col de la Forclas – col de Balme – Chamonix
Again for the last day we have two options. First via Trient village, col De Balme via les Herbagere or second from col de
la Forclas along the Biss to the glacier, up the steep trail to the Alpage des Petoules and traverse to Col de Balme.
Descent to le tour and transfer to Chamonix .
Day 11: Chamonix, enjoy a relaxing day in the mountaineering capital of the world, surrounded by amazing peaks,
glaciers.
Day 12: Transfer to airport, or continue traveling across Europe
Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous.
6 to 8 hours walking each day (8 to 14 miles) the complete tour is over 100 miles.
3, 000 ft vertical up and down per day on alpine trails.
Best season: end of June to end of September
