Maroon Bells

As for the the month of June, July, August and September all the trips are almost full but don’t hesitate to contact me if you are in the alps and would like to climb the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc or any 4,000 meters peaks. if you enjoy more rock climbing i will suggest climbs like the Mirroir  with 12 to 14 pitches routes.

We have climbers interested in teaming up with other climbers for a 5 days Matterhorn training and ascent. Last week of August. if you are interested please contact us.

The ski touring season is almost over. we had an exceptional winter, thank you to all of you. Great snow, fantastic powder, amazing ski tours, best friendship. Thank you!

The summer is right around the corner and i am inviting you all for another great adventure. I will be in Colorado from May 10 so it is the perfect time to meet and train for the bigger peak. i really recommend meeting me in Aspen to climb peak like the Maroon Bells via the Bellcord couloir. then later we can meet again for another peaks like the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc.

Lets plan for the next season, next year.

May 2013: Alpine climbing / mountaineering Training : Climb a fourteener like the Bell Cord couloir, traverse the Maroon Bells

June 2013: Trek across  the Alps

July / August 2013: Alpine climbing: The Matterhorn / Mont Blanc

September 2013: Colorado fourteeners. Capitol / Pyramid / Maroon Bells / Little Bear

February 2014: Aconcagua 6,963m. via the Ameghino route ( full traverse)

Dear Friends

In few days it will be spring time, a great time for ski touring, ski mountaineering. We have many tours schedule like the famous Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt  or the ski traverse of the Berner Oberland. In Italy we have plan to ski tour near the Grand Paradiso.

For this season most of the tours are “sold out” and I am encouraging you to plan for next season 2013-2014. Send us an email with your plan and we will design a tour for you or include you in one of our schedule departure.

The summer is also right around the corner and many climbs, treks are already booked but we still have some space available. If June is very busy with a trip to Kilimanjaro, a trek from Chamonix to Zermatt. July will also be busy with Matterhorn climbs, treks across the alps, alpine climbing, August still  has some open space and available time. We have many adventures ready for you.

Spring time is approaching rapidly and with it the ski touring season. The condition in the Alps are fantastic ! great snow, plenty of snow. We have few spots still available so don’t hesitate to contact us with your request. Hurry up !

Dear friends

A system of low pressure, cold weather is moving down and across the Alps dumping a  great amount of new snow. The forecast is for more snow for the next week at least. The avalanche danger rating is at 3 with potential for human trigger slabs as we had some high wind all the way down the valley floor.

Skiing condition are great with great powder snow, cold, soft snow and for all of you planing to ski tours later this winter, this coming spring the glaciers are filling well and the amount of snow above 2,000 meters is incredible.

From Canada to colorado and the Alps the snow conditions are good to very good. Of course Canada has tons of snow, Colorado just got dump and in the Alps the snow fall started in November and continuing, especially above 2,000 meters.

Dear Friends

Colorado is low on snow and is anxiely waiting for the next storm. The Alps are well cover as i did not stop snowing from the beginning of the year. Canada as always has tons of snow.

since the beginning of the winter season i ski in the Alps, working for the British mountain guides association for the ski techniques course, then i skied in Canada at Mustang Powder north of Kelowna with the Hines ski team. i skied in Utah with sub Zero temperature and finally in Aspen and Steamboat with perfect Colorado weather.

In a week i will be on my way back to Switzerland and start the ski touring, free riding season. please check the tours we offers or contact me if you want to plan your own ski adventures. Ski program 2013

Wishing you the best for 2013 and thank you for your support. 2012 was incredible from January to December I venture around the world with you, sharing great adventures, friendship. I contemplated amazing sunrise and sunset, reach many summits, trek across many miles of beautiful landscapes. Experience new cultures, share many great moments. Thank you I owe it to you all.

Before venturing into the backcountry  check your gear, especially your safety gear. Make sure you know how to assemble your probe and shovel, check your transceiver , add new batteries, organize a training session with your buddies as we all need a reminder about the use of the transceiver, searching techniques.

In January i will be ski touring with the hines ski team in Canada, at Mustang Powder and from January 14-19 I will be leading an all mountain, backcountry ski camp in Aspen. you will have an two options, 1; A 3 days camp or 2; the full 6 days. this camp will cover skiing techniques, we will ski two days at the resort practicing techniques that will allow you to ski with confidence anywhere. The other days we will cover backcountry techniques such as tour plan, route finding, track setting, avalanche safety. on the last day we will climb and ski a peak. don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or you can also contact Steve at Aspen alpine guide.

As you plan a winter ski touring, off piste skiing. As you prep for an untracked line down the face or waiting for the snow to cover your secret line make sure to check your gear. Tranceivers need new batteries, probe and shovel need a check, your avalung, your canister of your airbag need to be check and take an avalanche safety course, practice searching with your transceiver, ask your skiing buddies to do the same. Do it as early as possible so when you leave you won’t have to worry about it.

We have plan for you an Adventure ski camp in Aspen January 14-19, 2013. This camp will cover skiing techniques, backcountry techniques, safety tools, hazards evaluation, group management and a lot of good skiing.
