ABRUZZEN SKI TOUR. Spring 2009
A FANTASTIC MOUNTAIN RANGE - CLOSE TO ROME, Italy !
This is a place where wolves live, where you won´t find people storming the mountain, where you will have never ending descents. You
can find the finest firm spring snow or fresh powder.
If you like authentic Italien food, an atmosphere, where you feel at home- this is YOUR winter experience.
The Abruzzen lay close to Rome, the range is called Appenin and we will visit two different areas in character and style. The first more
tame- the Maiella, the second wild and rugged in the Gran Sasso.
Day 1 - 3: in Caramanico Terme: decending ridges and fantastic terrain of the Maiella Group: Monte Falcone, Monte Amaro, Tavola
Rotonda
Day 3 - 7: in Roccacalascio: traverses into the Gran Sasso Ridge. If the conditions are good we can traverse from south side to the
north. The friendly guardian of our accomodation will pick us up and drives up back to the most fantastic meal you never had!
We will always come back to a warm shower and rustic accomodation.
Day 8: flight home
Plan to arrive in Rome or Pescara , rent a car and drive into the Maiella Group into the Hotel Ede in Caramanico Terme

Price per Person: $ 2,800 per person, including guiding fee and hotel demi-pension, not included is the flight and the rental car
(rental can be shared or we can organize a van)
Prerequesites: Ascents and descent can be long, so good fitness level is required , some ascents/descent are 2000 meters. There
will be eventually steep terrain (40°) to decent
